According to the “Value of Reliability” study, unplanned shutdown times cost € 147,000 per hour. In 67 percent of industrial companies in Germany, unplanned downtime occurs at least once a month.
To ensure productivity and competitiveness, production downtime and the associated costs should be kept to a minimum.
We have developed a simple, technical and sustainable solution with the MSR unit.
A pump is defective and needs to be replaced. How long does the replacement take? Depending on the type of installation, it can take several hours. Depending on the urgency of the pump in the production process, the company decides whether a parallel pump station should be installed. Then production can continue without any worries. The space for the second pump station is not always available in the plant, in which case the time factor for replacement is very important.
The following procedure must be followed:
After the pump has been de-energized, the fittings are closed and the pipes as well as pump must be drained. Then start dismantling the pipework. Depending on the installation and mounting of the piping system must be checked if the piping also must be removed before the pump can be replaced. Ideally, the piping system should be mounted directly in front of the pump so that it can be replaced without additional effort. The replacement could take between one and three hours, depending on the installation.
It is worth investing in this to keep the time as short as possible. With the MSR unit, the time required to replace the pump can be reduced to an absolute minimum.
